Relieve Migraine Headaches With Pressure Point On Your Hand

migraine-headache-ressure-pointThat’s my hairy hand there, and my amazing digital art skills – thank you. But seriously, a lot of people have heard that there are pressure points that can help relieve migraine headaches – but they don’t know where they’re located. I’m sure there are lots of these pressure points, and while I’m not an expert in shiatsu, accupressure, or accupuncture, I have had some really great experience with this one point that I know about.

I don’t know if it has a name or anything, but that meaty part of your hand between your thumb and first finger – where that little red circle is in the picture – is the place I’m talking about. You can apply a light pinching pressure there with your other thumb and forefinger of your other hand and gently massage to help ease your migraine pain. I’m not claiming this as a cure all, but hey, this is free and can be done anywhere, anytime, even by someone else, if you’re having a migraine. It really does help, and it may take a while, but keep at it.

If you have more pain on one side of your head or face, or if one eye is throbbing more than the other, then massage the pressure point on the hand that is on that side. For instance, if you feel like there’s a stabbing happening behind your right eye, apply pressure to your right hand on the pressure point.

This works for toothaches as well. I don’t know how, but there must be some meridian, nerve, or channel that runs along your arm from your hand, through your neck, and into your head that can be manipulated in a good way.

Try this massaging this pressure point in your hand the next time you need some relief from migraine headaches. It can’t really make anything worse, and if it does you can always stop.
